School is out for the winter holidays, and we’re starting to fill up with travellers, backpackers and families looking to relax among Rotorua’s geothermal landscape. One of the best things about this little lakeside town is that whatever you’re looking for; whether it's high-action adventure, discovering our heritage or simply quiet relaxation; Rotorua has it aplenty.
At Rock Solid, we love it when we’re busy. The hostel comes alive with folks from all around meeting each other, swapping stories over a game of pool or chilling out with a movie in the lounge. It's as the old saying goes: the more the merrier!

Water Polo
Get your togs and towels ready folks, there’s about to be a big splash in Sulphur City!
We’re thrilled to be welcoming competitors from the Under 16’s National Water Polo Championships to Rock Solid this week as they challenge other teams from across New Zealand. We’ve been hard at work putting the finishing touches to the hostel so they can unwind and relax after a hard day at the pool.

At Rock Solid, we’ve been very lucky to work alongside some amazing local artists to give our hostel an authentic Rotorua vibe. This month, we’ve got several big projects in progress, including an amazing taniwha mural by Wairua Haereere and some fantastic graffiti designs by Francis Posa. We can’t wait to share their hard work with our guests and showcase our amazing artist community!
